201712 Club Magazine - December 2017
Beginning with thanks to the many members who assist the Club in various ways and continuing to fill every centimetre with news and views, the December magazine is 80 pages in full colour with reports on Southern Alfa Day held in September, and the NEC Classic Motor Show in November. There are articles on Christine Cairns’ MiTo in Sweden and David Faithful’s background to the launch of the same model; Alan Lathwell advises on the difference between his two Giuliettas and Davie Mann explores the differences between an Alfa 4C and a Lotus Evora. Richard Murtha brings us up to date at the end of the race season and Haydn says goodbye to us as he sells his troublesome 164. John Williams has details of a recent auction and his purchase of an Alfasud. Jamie has bought an Alfa too – a Stelvio – I’ll let him explain!
Our regular AROC Lives questions are answered by Mike Scarf, Lincolnshire Section Secretary; Jon Dooley has been covering the miles and testing the cars and roads at home an abroad; Peter Collins has been in Verona and Umbria and John Haynes’ photographs bring a little more Summer colour to the Winter magazine. Finally, in more ways than one, Alex Payne explains the charm of model making and shows off the cars he’s made.
Event dates for next year are coming together, with Spring Alfa Day at Duxford in April, South West Alfa Day at the Haynes Motor Museum in May and National Alfa Day in July at Weston Park. There will be more of course, but now is the time to mark them on the AROC wall calendar which is also included with your magazine.
