201708 Club Magazine - August 2017

Regular price £6.95

The lovely Montreal on the cover of the 84 page August issue of the Club magazine introduces the 5 page article by Bruce Taylor, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first exhibition of this model at Expo ’67, the World’s Fair in Canada. He tells of his ownership experiences and how he has shared his knowledge online with other owners. Montreals were also present at some of the recent events, not least National Alfa Day and John Griffiths has written about the successful day at Knebworth House in early July. John Third and Alex Payne have written about events at Hever Castle and Upton House and Kathryn Hall tells of an idyllic holiday in Italy in her 916 Spider. David Faithful and his MiTo took part in an Auto Italia photo-shoot with three other Club members and their cars, Mark Simmons hunted down a new clutch hose for his GT and Ed McDonough writes more on the origins of Alfa names. Ben Cook launches the new AROC UK Modified Register and Richard Murtha squeezes as much race information onto three pages of Competition Corner as anyone could hope to read. John Dooley has written an Obituary of Paul O’Hanlon who died in June. Paul was one of the Club’s most enthusiastic racers from the late 60s to the mid 80s. Only room for one of the AROC Lives this time – Adrian Jardine, the SZ/RZ Registrar - but also contributions from Peter Collins, John Williams, Hadyn and Jamie, as well as updates from the Registrars and the Section Secretaries. It’s no wonder that we needed to expand to 84 pages to fit in so much! Happy reading!
