201008 Centenary Celebration Edition August 2010
Welcome to our centenary celebration of Alfa Romeo
It is packed with articles that give an insight into aspects of an illustrious history.
We are most grateful to the distinguished expert authors who have generously provided us with fascinating articles on their chosen subjects.
In addition we have called upon the knowledge and memories of club members who campaigned Alfas in competition, followed the development of Alfa road cars and were involved with our club right from its inception.
This special issue features motor sport, exotic pre-war road cars and the post-war change to mass production.
There are articles on engineering design and the Carrozzerie who produced such wonderfully styled bodies. Of the many post-war road cars, we have chosen to feature the Alfetta GTV6. It is described in detail covering road car variations and the many 'specials'.
In competition the GTV6 gave the Touring Car protagonists an Alfa that could compete, despite the technical challenges.
There is also the history of AROC from its formation in 1964.
We hope that everyone will enjoy and learn something from the articles published here and will keep our Centenary Celebration on-the-shelf into the future.
